The Foundation
The financial arm of the Psychoanalytic Institute and Society is the Psychoanalytic Foundation. The Foundation raises money to support the educational effort of the other two entities and it promotes psychoanalytic perspectives in the cultural life of the city. In partnership with the Milwaukee Art Museum, The Skylight Opera Theatre, Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, The Medical College of Wisconsin, The Elaine Erickson Gallery and The Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, the Foundation sponsors community projects that offer opportunities to teach a psychoanalytic perspective. Among the most noteworthy of these collaborations are the sponsorship of The Division of Psychoanalysis in the Medical College. This Division educates Psychiatric Residents and Medical Students in practical applications of a psychoanalytic perspective.
